YO HO, YO HO, a "Rockin' Girl Blogger"'s Life for Me!!

posted Friday, 29 June 2007

ARGH...  I'm STILL sleepy.

The English Muffin returneth today from his business trip to the US.  While he was there, he stopped in to see my family a bit, and picked up a bunch of my things to bring back to me.  I can't wait to see what all he brought, I know a good deal of my belly dance stuff is a LOT of what he's bringing.  YEY!!  I can't wait to put all of that on, too. ;)

So, anyway, please don't mind my absent brain-ness at the moment, I slept funkily (is that a REAL word?!) and fell asleep to Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, so there was a quite a substantial dash of pirates and pirateering in my dreams.  YARRRRR, Maties!!  But needless to say, then, I'm extremely tired after all of that pillaging, swashbuckling, YARR-ing and YO HO-ing.  But wow, isn't CAPTAIN Jack Sparrow one of THE HOTTEST PIRATES you've ever seen?!  Woo..  Okay, I think I'm getting off subject just a pinch..

The other day, my friend MadameX gave me the "Rockin' Girl Blogger" award, and it's time to pass it along.  I had a little bit of a personal debate as to how to do this, really, because TWO of my nominees (I've decided NOT to nominate some of the previously nominated, even though some of them are some of my faves --GAH, confusing much?!) are co-authors of the same blog, and one girl is blogger of TWO blogs.  It still ends up five girl bloggers, and five girl blogs, only Two of the girls write ONE blog, and ONE of the girls writes TWO blogs.  Hmmm, got me?!  I hope so, because now I think I'M kind of confused.  Anyway, here goes:

 rockin' girl blogger

"Rockin' Girl Bloggers (not in any sort of order):

The GODDESS of Caterwauling.  I've been a lurker at her blog since the earliest of early last year, when I just happened to luck up and find her.  I don't think I've ever made a comment there, mostly because commenting was disabled when I was really compelled to agree with and add my personal harping on something she'd posted, but I can understand the necessity of having to do that sometimes.  I keep going back, though, because she's a great writer with a really awesome sense of who she is, and what she's about coming sharply through her writing.  Give her blog a read, I give you my word you'll find something there to really spark your interest. and keep you reading!!

Heather of Pixelscribbles.  Aside from being one of my trilogy of best friends EVAH, she's an awesome writer, and is always bringing up a variety of topics in her blog.  From thoughtful and sometimes harsh reality checks, to what she thinks is hawt in her own little world of anime, to life and cultural nuances in Japan, Heather's probably already blogged about it.  And, if it's something she's really passionate about, she'll blog about it again and again, always with a new and fresh perspective to continue things along.  Good reading.  Try this one, definitely.

Mari, the blogging girl behind c.u.r.i.o.s.i.t.y. AND a co-blogger and founder of the Alchemy belly dance troup, Alchemy's website, and of COURSE Alchemy's "Tales From the Caravan" is a firecracker packed with more punch in her little frame, than Muhammad Ali EVER had!!  When I read c.u.r.i.o.s.i.t.y., I feel like it's just Mari and me again, and we're sitting in the middle of her huge, fluffy sofa, having a heart to heart, and I'm hanging on her every word.  She blogs so personally about EVERYTHING under the sun:  work, personal dynamics with others, general stuff that gets her dander up, and stuff she finds hilarious.  It's like going home a little bit each time I catch up on her personal blog.  And DEFINITELY check out Tales From the Caravan (and the whole Alchemy site) to keep you up on what's going on in belly dance, with ALL of the Alchemy girls' personal input as to what and how they're all learning and developing in their corner of the huge and diverse belly dance world.

The next two "Rockin' Girl Bloggers" are Bex (Rebecca) and Bets (Betsy), co-bloggers of The New Awesome.  I KNOW these are their names, and it's NOT the same girl, or TWO girls with the same NAME, because I'VE read Bex's post this past June 17th:  "Keeping it Straight is the New Awesome" (which, I have to admit, I thought had something to do with sexuality since I'd previously read the more recent "Apparently Leaving Town Just as Things are Getting Good is the New Awesome" by Bets.  Not like it would've mattered anyway, though, if it had.).  Confused yet?  Well, don't worry, that's about as confusing as it gets.  So far, anyway.  These two rockin' blogger girls live in San Francisco, share an apartment as WELL as a blog, have severe fondnesses for pictures, their friends and personal hobbies, AND they can still find the time to write a pretty cool blog!  I'm new to reading The New Awesome, but from the first time I read it, I've kept going back for more, and have already added it to my "Necessary Fabulousnesses" here at Extraordinary Girl.

Bravo, ladies!!  Keep up the excellent blogs!
